AGLASS SPAT - STORMWATER GROSS POLLUTANT TRAP

Growing environmental awareness has seen a change in the nature of development. Recent legislation has directed engineering design towards environmental protection, and often local and state governments require developments to include environmental protection devices.

To accommodate government requirements for stormwater treatment, Aglass SPA™ have been designed to reduce oil and silt levels in stormwater systems.

The Aglass SPA™ Stormwater Oil and Silt Arrestor operates using two chambers. Stormwater entering the unit is diverted into the Storage Chamber by the Diversion Chamber.

Stormwater entering the Storage Chamber is forced to the side of the chamber by a baffle creating a whirlpool effect. The tangential forces of this effect pushes grit and sand to the edge and down the sides of the Storage Chamber, settling them out of the stormwater.

The flows in the Storage Chamber also result in oils and grease floating to the top of the stormwater layer. The design of the outlet prevents the oil from over, or under-flowing back into the stormwater system.

After separation from oil and grit, the stormwater is transfered back into the Diversion Chamber and from there flows back into the stormwater system.

To ensure that the AGLASS SPA™ Oil and Silt Arrestor does not flood, or create back-flooding, the design of the Diversion Chamber allows much more of the flow to run straight through the Stormwater system during high storm flows.

Applications:

The AGLASS SPA™ has been specifically designed for the in-line removal of Oil and Silt in Stormwater run-off from roads and both residential and industrial buildings, and can also be implemented in any situation requiring the removal of Oil and Silt from stormwater flows.

The AGLASS SPA™ can be installed in new or existing stormwater systems, and can be used for arresting Oil and Silt and any other settlable solids.

Benefits:

There are many benefits to the AGLASS SPA™, including but not limited to:

  • The durable yet light-weight construction allows easy installation in a variety of places.
  • The design allows for highly effective removal of Silt and Oil with minimal maintenance.
  • The range accommodates pipe sizes up to 450mm in diameter, and flow rates up to 120 L/s, allowing specific selection for most design criteria, and treatment of up to 95% of annual stormwater runoff.
  • A choice of lid options to suit all loading requirements.
  • The economical and environmentally sound stormwater treatment solution.

Weight of Unit:

  • Approximate weight of diversion chamber is 89 kilograms.
  • Approximate weight of storage chamber is 200 kilograms.
  • After evacuation and gravity fall has been obtained it takes approximately 1 hour to install the unit ready for back filling.

Sizes:

  • Range from 100mm inlets to 450mm inlets.
  • Larger sizes available on request

Construction:

Heavy Duty Fibreglass

Installation:

  • Can be installed above ground and below ground.
  • Unit comes as two separate components ready for assembly on site.

Lid Options:

  1. Fibreglass for garden beds.
  2. Light Duty Class B - Pedestrian trafficable gas tight.
  3. Heavy Duty Class D - Cars, Trucks, Semi Trailers and Forklifts

Examples of Uses:

  • To reduce Oil and Silt Levels in Stormwater Systems.
  • Large factory water run-off areas.
  • Large carparks.
  • Large roof run-off.
  • Can be installed in roads to stop floating debris - cans, oil etc going through the waterways.
